As a mobile bar service, Cestrian Bars East naturally sees many fantastic events and many beautiful venues but occasionally we attend an event which blows us away. That’s what can be said for the wedding of Ian and Janine which took place this weekend at the wonderful Shelt Hill Farm & Fishery in Woodborough, Nottingham.
The set up was second to none, with 6 stunning tipis from All About Me Tipi Hire, all set in the gorgeous grounds which offered plenty of different spaces for guests to enjoy.
The generous bride and groom got the party started on Friday evening, with 90 guests enjoying some fantastic music from a Beautiful South tribute band and feasting on gourmet burgers to their hearts content.
Following a good night’s sleep, the lovely bride and groom said ‘I do’ in a stunning ceremony in front of their nearest and dearest at Papplewick Pumping Station located in Ravenshead, Nottingham and WOW! What a venue! It was so quirky and unlike any wedding we have witnessed before. The pumping station is one of Europe’s great Industrial Monuments, so naturally it comes with bags of character making for a totally unique wedding ceremony. A huge thank you to Ashley and Alan who gave us a fascinating guided tour.
Outside of the Pumping Station we served flutes of celebratory fizz to the then emotional guests while the all-important photographs got underway.
Guests continued to be wowed as they were collected in a traditionally English red bus, supplied by the lovely Phil and Dave from London Bus Hire and were taken to Shelt Hill Farm where the celebrations were continued.
To the delight of the guests, the newly weds continued their generosity by offering a free bar for the duration of the event. It’s needless to say that spirits were high and a brilliant time was had by all.
At the request of the groom, John Smiths Bitter was added to our usual drinks menu and it went down a storm. As did Our Wedded Bliss Pale Ale! Our fruit gins with premium mixers were also a popular choice on the night.
Complementing the selection of drinks were some delicious stone baked pizzas from Camille at The Rustic Crust. We eat a lot of wood fired pizzas but these ones were unreal!
Creating a huge buzz and an infectiously upbeat atmosphere were The Warning Tones Wedding Band. Lead singer Dave delivered show-stopping vocals and the whole band maintained a high energy vibe throughout the whole evening. Absolutely mesmerising!
The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and it is events like this which make us feel like we have the best job in the world!
A huge thank you to Ian and Janine for letting us be a part of their big day!
